   The XC4 is a "4X4 STM-1 cross connect" which can be use for SONET/SDH add-drop multiplexer system, multi-service access platform and SONET/SDH cross connect applications.
   The XC4 can support up to 12X12 VC3 or 252X252 VC12 cross connect capacity. Any tributary entering on any STM-1 stream can be connected to any same size tributary within one of the four outgoing stream. Among input streams and output streams, traffic can be exchanged at VC3 or VC12 level without blocking.
   The XC4 provides four ingress and four egress STM-1 data stream that compliant with 19.44 MHz telecomm-bus (byte format). The chip also provide outgoing J0J1V1 and SPE which compensate the delay of cross-connect and aligned with the Egress Bus (outgoing STM-1 data stream).
   A microprocessor interface which is compatible with 8-bit Intel/Motorola MUX/DEMUX CPU interfaces.
