MTUP is a multiple STM-1 SONET/SDH VT/TU Processor that can process up to 3 TUG3, 63 VT2/TU12 or 84 VT1.5/TU11 or legal mixture of these tributaries. MTUP can be used at SONET/SDH Ring ADM or DXC equipments to support following functions:
1. |
Alignment of J1/V1 between different optical input ports: As input preparation into a TDM switch for a DXC or timing adjustment between two STM1 signal for an ADM. |
2. |
Extract bypassed tributaries and multiplexed with local added tributaries to form a complete STM-1 signal for hand over to the next NE in an SDH Ring. |
3. |
Deployed at head end of an SDH Ring to provide a stable SONET/SDH local timing source (J1/V1 position). |
Supporting with Timeslot Interchange function, MTUP can be deployed at SONET/SDH Match Node as an interconnection device between Rings. Timeslot and timing adjustments between different rings can be achieved via MTUP. MTUP supports alarm monitoring of AIS and LOP event for it's input interface and is also able to insert Unequipped or AIS signal to output tributaries at software control.
